Small-Cap Winners & Losers: Red Lion

Small-cap stocks took a tumble along with the major indices on Monday. The Russell 2000 was falling 0.32% at 695.88 and the S&P SmallCap 600 was declining 0.12% to 368.04.

Rediff.com(REDF Quote - Cramer on REDF - Stock Picks) gained 20.5% to $7.71 on Monday after a fund manager told CNBC it was a buy. The Mumbai, India-based company provides online consumer offerings in India and to the global Indian community. It has Web sites in India and the U.S. consisting of communication services, such as e-mail and instant messaging, news and information channels, community features, sophisticated search engines and mobile and online marketplace services.

Gaining ground today, Red Lion Hotels(RLH Quote - Cramer on RLH - Stock Picks) moved up 17% to $8.25 as the company said it received a nonbinding indication of interest from Columbia Pacific Opportunity Fund. The Spokane, Wash.-based company is primarily engaged in the ownership, operation and franchising of mid-scale and upscale full-service hotels under its Red Lion brand.

Shuffle Master(SHFL Quote - Cramer on SHFL - Stock Picks) is down 22.07% today to $4.98 on news that estimates for the firm's new equity offering will be 19 cents dilutive to its full-year 2009 EPS, compared with the previous 15 cents. Shuffle Master is a Las Vegas-based company that specializes in the provision of utility products, including automatic card shufflers and roulette chip sorters. Shuffle Master recently announced an equity offering that is more dilutive than was expected.

Emcore(EMKR Quote - Cramer on EMKR - Stock Picks) lost 14.65% on Monday to $6.17 as Canaccord reduced its rating to hold from buy. Emcore is a New Mexico-based company that provides compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite and terrestrial solar power markets.
