TSC Power Stock Rankings: RIM

07/01/08 - 07:02 AM EDT

Patrick Schultz

During the week of June 23, TheStreet.com readers searched for the following 10 stocks more than any others. This week, new entrant Cabot Oil and Gas joins the list as investors seek answers to their questions about the company's recent price action.

Each week, research associate Patrick Schultz makes the buy, sell or hold call on them below, in the order of their popularity.

Top Ten Most Searched Stocks on TheStreet.com

1. Research In Motion(RIMM - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr): Investors were not happy with last week's earnings report from the maker of the popular BlackBerry device. The day after the report, shares plunged more than $18 or 13.3% to close at $123.46. I believe there is an opportunity here, as it has always been profitable to buy any selloff in RIMM shares. I am sticking with this simple rule of thumb: Don't bet against RIMM. -- BUY

2. Cabot Oil and Gas(COG - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr): This one is a proud member of one of the few bull markets we have: the energy sector. COG is a natural gas exploration and production company with exposure to key regions. This play has assets in Canada, the Appalachian Basin, Gulf Coast of Texas, Louisiana and Anadarko Basin. As nothing else is working, it is safe and smart to stick with this sector.--- BUY

3. Apple(AAPL - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr): We are still treading water as everybody awaits the launch of the 3G iPhone. The recent market weakness and the rumored health problems of Steve Jobs have pressured Apple shares. I actually like the stock at these levels and would take a nibble -- but I emphasize, just a nibble. Not a big bite. --- BUY
