China Automotive Systems (CAAS Quote), which makes power steering systems for autos, reported that its first-quarter income more than doubled year over year to $4.4 million, or 18 cents a share. Revenue also increased 46% year over year to $41.5 million, the Jing Zhou City, China, firm announced. Shares rocketed up 25% to $6.85.
