05/05/08 - 02:58 PM EDT

TheStreet.com Staff

Buy Marvel MVL Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Monday.

Cramer said that short sellers are keying in on the entertainment company, but he thinks they're wrong. "This company is much more sophisticated. It is much better run," he said. I'm sticking by it. I think these guys are on fire."

Cramer voiced mixed opinions on Emcore EMKR. "I've always felt it was a copper play and therefore negative," he said. "Copper's at its all-time high." Cramer said once the company can move past being a straight play on copper, value investors might become more interested.

Of American Capital Strategies ACAS, Cramer said, "I am not a very big fan of ... mezzanine lending." He said that like Marvel, this stock is a "classic battleground between the shorts and the longs." He said he wouldn't count out CEO Malon Wilkus, and that CIT CIT was a weaker company.

On news of an outbreak of a virus in China that has killed dozens, Cramer said bears might run with this headline, and they may get a couple down days out of the trade. However, he said "I think China remains the single greatest driver of everything we trade in this world."

Wal-Mart WMT announced it is expanding its prescription drug plan. Cramer called the company a "paper tiger," but also said he likes the company.

At the time of publication, Cramer was had no positions in any of the stocks mentioned.
