Citi Shuffles Executive Ranks Again
Updated from 9:28 a.m. EDT
Citigroup(C) is further shaking up its executive ranks as it revamps its businesses along geographic lines, according to published reports Friday. The changes atop Citi's consumer banking and global equity units are part of a broader reshuffling CEO Vikram Pandit has pursued since taking the top job in December. Terri Dial, who currently heads Lloyds TSB Group's U.K. consumer banking division and a former Wells Fargo(WFC) exec, will join Citi with the charge of building up its U.S. retail banking and consumer finance operations, according to a Friday report in the The Wall Street Journal. And Nick Roe, who head's the bank's European prime brokerage, will replace Ali Hackett and Tom Tesauro, co-heads of global equity finance and prime brokerage, according to Bloomberg. Citi also is expected to create Asian and European divisions encompassing consumer and commercial banking divisions, according to the Journal. The bank until now split up its units primarily by business line, the paper said. Citi earlier this month named Michael Klein as chairman of its institutional clients group and John Havens as chief executive of the unit. Last month, the bank named Brian Leach, one of Pandit's fellow co-founders of the now Citi-owned hedge fund Old Lane and also a former Morgan Stanley(MS) exec, as the company's chief risk officer.
