Buy Prudential (PRU Quote - Cramer on PRU - Stock Picks), Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Thursday.

"I always regarded that as being the single most conservative ... of the insurers," Cramer said. "I think Pru may be a buy here." Cramer acknowledged that the company missed for the quarter, but said that it's now cheap enough to buy.

"People gave it up after one quarter. That doesn't make sense to me." Cramer also noted that MetLife (MET Quote - Cramer on MET - Stock Picks) surged today.

Seeing AIG (AIG Quote - Cramer on AIG - Stock Picks) fall, Cramer said that their "huge bit of disclosure" might not have been enough. "The problem is that there's so much stuff in there."

Cramer expressed concern about the company's exposure to commercial real estate. He said Met has "tons" of commercial real estate exposure.

For the broader market, Cramer sees hope in an intrameeting cut. "Goldman, every time they open their mouths, it's 'Intrameeting cut.'"

Saying that the insurers are tough to call, Cramer reiterated that "Pru is just down too much. It's so conservative, and the quarter wasn't that bad."

At the time of publication, Cramer had no positions in any of the stocks mentioned.
