Eriposte at leftcoaster.com continues his analysis of Obama's criticism of Edwards. Some progressives aren't very happy to see Obama attacking unions using 527s (political action committees) to support candidates.

Taylor Marsh rants about how Obama poses as the cure to all kinds of problems. I share Marsh's doubts about Obama's ability to fix everything, including the political divide in America.

Issues

Smintheus at Dailykos.com notices an odd paragraph in President Bush's press release on the omnibus spending bill. Is Bush intending this as a signing statement (an interpretation of law), or is something else happening?

The Carpetbagger Report writes about the recent American Research Group poll from Iowa. It had a few eye-popping results, such as Clinton with a 15-point lead over Obama and Fred Thompson at 3%. Hmmm. This poll needs more than a few grains of salt.

John Cole analyzes a recent announcement by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The commission has decided to allow employers to terminate health insurance policies for retirees 65 or older; this places the burden on Medicare. This seems like a great argument for single-payer health insurance.
