What's a Good Business Resolution?
Q: Any suggestions for some good business New Year's resolutions?
-- Andrea F., accountant, Washington A: Now that's what I am talking about! Stop, rinse, repeat: You must do something unique if you want your business to break out. A business New Year's resolution is just such an idea. Sure, you could be like every other boring business out there -- update your business plan, file it ... and not look at it again until next December. Or you could do it differently -- make a few New Year's resolutions, pin them to your wall and see what happens. While your resolutions will be unique to your business, here are three that could help any small business next year: 1. Bust your technology addiction: Calm down. I'm not saying stop being addicted to technology -- we're all addicted -- just break your addiction to your technology. If you're using the same software you were using three years ago, then get with the program! Do you have any idea how much huge corporations like Hewlett-Packard(HPQ Quote), Apple(AAPL Quote), and Staples(SPLS Quote) love you? You make them a ton of money! And because they want you to make them even more, they are always updating old products and creating new ones, each designed to make your small-business life better, easier, more productive or more profitable. It takes time to break old habits or learn new programs, but you have the time, if you follow resolution No. 2.- Loading Comments...
