The Republican Party elite is up in arms over former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee. Some of the Republicans' arguments have found their way into the blogosphere. From advocacy groups to political pundits, the elites try their best to stop the former Southern Baptist minister. Has their pandering to evangelicals created something the elites can no longer control? It could be the story of this election.

Hugh Hewitt notes that Mike Huckabee wants to see the Republican Party change to be more inclusive. Hewitt disagrees and harangues Huckabee. Hewitt and many others in the party elite fear a win by Huckabee.
Glenn Greenwald compares the reactions to Huckabee's ad and Sen. John McCain's (R., Ariz.) ad by conservatives. McCain's ad had an overt cross drawn in the sand, whereas Huckabee's "cross" happened to be a bookshelf and not a cross at all. McCain is lauded and Huckabee attacked. You have to love the hypocrisy.
Jim Geraghty covers the poorly timed criticism of Huckabee by the Club for Growth. The tax-cutting advocacy organization sent out an attack email on Christmas and played right into Huckabee's hands.
