American Express(AXP Quote) raised its quarterly dividend, increasing it by 20% to 18 cents a share. The financial services company's Gift Cards division projects that Americans are planning on spending about a quarter of their gift-giving budget on gift cards this year, according to a company-conducted survey. AmEx has a P/E of 16.4, a PEG of 1.3 and a yield of 1.3%.
American Express is one of the favorites of Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway(BRKB Quote). Buffett also likes Wabco Holdings(WBC Quote), with a yield of 0.6%, Wells Fargo(WFC Quote), with a 4.1% yield, and US Bancorp(USB Quote), with a 5.2% yield.
