Friday's Winners & Losers: Crocs

Crocs(CROX Quote) was among the Nasdaq's winners Friday, as the plastic footwear company jumped 9.6% after posting solid earnings after the prior bell.

Crocs tripled its profits in the second quarter, earning $48.5 million, or 58 cents a share, compared with $15.7 million and 19 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue skyrocketed to $224.3 million, from $85.6 million in the same period a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were seeking 44 cents a share on $192.7 million in sales. The company also lifted its third-quarter and full-year guidance above Wall Street's expectations. The company now sees full-year revenue of between $810 million and $820 million and earnings per share of $1.89 to $1.93. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect earnings of $1.56 a share and revenue of $712.2 million. The stock closed up $4.83 to $55.42, well above its 52-week high.

VCA Antech(WOOF Quote) shares advanced 12.1% after the veterinary services company posted solid earnings, upped its full-year guidance and was upgraded by Jeffries. The firm upped the stock to a buy from hold Friday, the day after it said it expected to earn between $1.35 and $1.37 per diluted share, on revenue of between $1.14 billion and $1.15 billion. Analysts expect earnings of $1.38 per share on revenue of $1.13 billion. Shares climbed $4.41 to $41.02.

lululemon athletica (LULUV) skyrocketed 55.6% after the clothing maker's initial public offering. In all, 18.2 million shares of common stock were offered at $18 a share. The Vancouver-based company offered 2.3 million of the shares, with the remaining 15.9 million offered by selling stockholders. Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch are serving as joint book runners. Shares were trading up $10 to $28.
