Tuesday's ETF Winners & Losers

Pharmaceutical-related exchange-traded funds were among few winners of Tuesday's session, thanks to a gain of more than 5% in Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY Quote - Cramer on BMY - Stock Picks).

A judge ruled in favor of Bristol-Myers and blocked a generic version of the Plavix blood-thinning drug. Bristol-Myers, which sells the drug in the U.S, was recently up $1.42, or 4.7%, to $31.73. France-based Sanofi-Aventis (SNY Quote - Cramer on SNY - Stock Picks), which holds the patent to the Plavix drug, was also higher.

The Pharmaceutical HOLDRs (PPH Quote - Cramer on PPH - Stock Picks) was recently up 41 cents, or 0.5%, to $83.27. The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Pharmaceuticals (IHE Quote - Cramer on IHE - Stock Picks) ETF was adding 3 cents, or 0.1%, to $57.47.

On the losing side, bundled securities tracking semiconductors were among the worst performers. Among individual names, Texas Instruments (TXN Quote - Cramer on TXN - Stock Picks), Altera (ALTR Quote - Cramer on ALTR - Stock Picks) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD Quote - Cramer on AMD - Stock Picks) were lower by 1% or more.

The Ultra Semiconductor ProShares (USD Quote - Cramer on USD - Stock Picks) ETF was losing $1.32, or 1.5%, to $84.54. The PowerShares Dynamic Semiconductors (PSI Quote - Cramer on PSI - Stock Picks) ETF fell 17 cents, or 0.9%, to $19.49. The iShares Goldman Sachs Semiconductor (IGW Quote - Cramer on IGW - Stock Picks) ETF was easing by 58 cents, or 0.9%, to $65.97. The Semiconductor HOLDRs (SMH Quote - Cramer on SMH - Stock Picks) ETF was 21 cents, or 0.5%, lower at $38.04.

Housing-related ETFs were among losers. Earlier, a government report said U.S. housing starts fell a greater-than-expected 2.1% in May to 1.47 million annualized units. On average, economists were looking for new construction to total 1.48 million units.

The SPDR Homebuilders (XHB Quote - Cramer on XHB - Stock Picks) ETF was down 21 cents, or 0.5%, to $32.61. The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Home Construction(ITB Quote - Cramer on ITB - Stock Picks) ETF was recently falling by 4 cents, or 0.2%, at $33.86.

Energy-related ETFs were also lower, as crude oil pulled back from a near 10-month high. The front-month crude contract was down 41 cents to $68.68 a barrel, and gasoline was losing 3 cents at $2.22 a gallon.

The SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production (XOP Quote - Cramer on XOP - Stock Picks) ETF was off 29 cents, or 0.6%, to $48.82. The PowerShares DB Oil (DBO Quote - Cramer on DBO - Stock Picks) was down 22 cents, or 0.8%, to $27.19. The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration Index (IEO Quote - Cramer on IEO - Stock Picks) was lower by 33 cents, or 0.5%, to $61.92. The PowerShares Dynamic Energy Exploration (PXE Quote - Cramer on PXE - Stock Picks) fell 10 cents, or 0.4%, to $24.01.
