PowerShares is adding five new exchange-traded funds to its lengthy lineup. The new ETFs, listing Wednesday on the Amex, are designed to invest in the growing global marketplace.
The new Global Water Portfolio(PIO Quote) tracks an index of companies that develop technologies and services related to world water consumption, while the Global Clean Energy Portfolio(PBD Quote) invests in firms focusing on greener and generally renewable power sources. The other three ETFs, the Dynamic Asia Pacific Portfolio(PUA Quote), Dynamic Europe Portfolio(PEH Quote) and Dynamic Developed International Opportunities Portfolio(PFA Quote), are linked to special indices meant to identify outperforming stocks in various parts of the world. The new offerings bring the total number of PowerShares ETFs to 75. In addition, the company also sponsors the PowerShares QQQ(QQQQ Quote), Deutsche Bank currency/commodity funds and BLDRS Index Funds Trust. PowerShares is a division of Invesco(IVZ Quote), formerly known as Amvescap.- Loading Comments...
