Stockpickr Lists: Emcor on the Rise

Rising on Unusual Volume: Emcor Group(EME) gained 8.4% on Monday after the mechanical and electrical construction services company increased full-year guidance and its revenue prediction. The company also announced a 2-for-1 stock split, prompting heavy trading. The stock leapt $5.42 to $70.10, with volume nearly five times normal. 52-Week Highs: Emcor also hit a 52-week high. Biggest % Gainers: Medivation(MDVN) soared 22% Monday, after announcing positive trial results for an Alzheimer's drug. Shares gained $3.62 to $19.80. Biggest % Losers: GenVec(GNVC) tanked 14%. The company last week reported its phase II/III study of its TNFerade product showed no statistically significant tumor-response difference from standard care alone in pancreatic-cancer patients. GenVec shares fell another 46 cents to $2.80 on Monday. 52-Week Lows: Homebuilder Meritage Homes(MTH) sunk $1.65, or 5.1%, to $30.47, a 52-week low. The stock has generally been falling since saying it was cutting its full-year guidance last week. Latest Activist Situations: In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing released Monday, JGD Management disclosed a 5.1% stake in NetManage(NETM).
