Latest Activist Situations: Billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian's Tracinda Corp., in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Monday, said it intends to enter into negotiations with MGM(MGM) to buy the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Tracinda, which owns about 56% of MGM, also wants to pursue strategic alternatives for the company.

52-Week Highs: Atlas America(ATLS) shares rose $9.99, or 16%, to $70.79, a 52-week high, after it announced it agreed to buy DTE Energy's Michigan Antrim Shale gas exploration and production properties for about $1.23 billion.

Biggest % Gainers: Luna Innovations(LUNA) shot up 69% to $5.07 after the Food and Drug Administration approved its device that detects gaseous emboli, or air bubbles, that can enter the bloodstream and cause brain damage during invasive medical procedures.

Rising on Unusual Volume: CYTYC(CYTC) ballooned 23% to $43 on heavy trading. The company, which manufactures cervical cancer screening equipment, agreed to a $6.2 billion buyout by Hologic(HOLX), a maker of mammography and breast care products. Shares were trading more than 22 times average volume.

Biggest % Losers: NetBank(NTBK) sunk 66% to 59 cents, the day's biggest percentage drop, after saying it would lose between $60 million and $70 million in a transaction with EverBank. NetBank is selling assets including its held-for-investment loan portfolio and its small-business-equipment-leasing operations, while also shutting down its struggling third-party mortgage-origination business.

52-Week Lows: CalAmp(CAMP) remained settled atop the list of 52-week lows it occupied Friday. Shares sunk another 13 cents -- after plummeting 38% on Friday -- to $4.72, after the wireless-equipment provider last week reported a smaller fourth-quarter profit and warned of a first-quarter loss.

Stocks with Unusual Option Activity: Bristol-Myers Squibb(BMY), which closed at $30.31, just 19 cents under its 52-week high of $30.50, topped the list of stocks with unusual options activity.
