So I poked around with an investment screener to locate stocks with a dividend of at least 2.5% and a five-year growth rate of better than 20%.

My picks are either from the S&P 500 or the S&P Midcap 400, and are relatively safe bets with no unusual risk factors. Finally, they are from a wide assortment of industries, including banking, real estate, telecommunications and technology.
  • Huntington Bancshares (HBAN Quote - Cramer on HBAN - Stock Picks). This full-service Columbus, Ohio, bank operates in five states and pays a 4.9% dividend with a projected 23% growth rate, and probably has play as a takeover candidate. Several other banks could have made my list, including Wachovia (WB Quote - Cramer on WB - Stock Picks) (4.1% dividend, 26% growth) and Cincinnati Financial (CINF Quote - Cramer on CINF - Stock Picks) (3.3% dividend, 37% growth). Note that my choices operate in areas with relatively less exposure to overpriced real estate.
  • Worthington Industries (WOR Quote - Cramer on WOR - Stock Picks) (3.2% dividend, 28% growth). Now let's move to the manufacturing sector. There aren't as many choices here because of the overall slump in the sector nationwide. Worthington, another Columbus, Ohio, company, makes metal products like gas cylinders, steel studs and pumps, and pays 3.2% with a 27% growth rate. 3M (MMM Quote - Cramer on MMM - Stock Picks) (2.5% dividend, 23% growth) and Waste Management (WMI Quote - Cramer on WMI - Stock Picks) (2.8% dividend, 21% growth) also fit the pattern.
  • Rayonier Inc. (RYN Quote - Cramer on RYN - Stock Picks) (4.3% dividend, 26% growth). This familiar forest products concern has an interesting twist -- it is set up as a real estate investment trust, or REIT, to avoid paying corporate taxes on funds received from its extensive real estate operations.
