However, the decline in crude prices weighed on energy-related ETFs. The May crude contract finished a very volatile five-day stretch lower by 1% at $63.63 a barrel. The United States Oil (USO Quote) ETF was lower by 0.9% to $51.52. The iPath Goldman Sachs Crude Oil Index (OIL Quote) eased 0.6% to $37.75.
Among other decliners, the B2B Internet HOLDRs (BHH Quote) ETF was lower due to rating changes. Holding CheckFree (CKFR Quote) sank 3.8% for the week after JMP Securities downgraded the stock Wednesday to market perform from strong buy.
