Beazer Homes(BZH Quote) was among the NYSE's losers Wednesday, tumbling 8.4% after the homebuilder said it has received a request for documents from the U.S. attorney's office.

The company issued a statement in response to news reports that federal investigators are looking at its mortgage-lending practices in a criminal probe. Business Week reported that the FBI, IRS, Justice Department and the Inspector General of Housing and Urban Development have launched an investigation.

Beazer said that it is cooperating with the U.S. attorney's office. It said it believes the request for documents was fueled by a news report in the Charlotte Observer. "We have further been told by the U.S. attorney's office that the statements by the FBI and published by Business Week were not authorized and should not have been made," the company said. Shares fell $2.64 to $28.77.

H.B. Fuller(FUL Quote) rose 11.2% after the specialty chemical products company posted better-than-expected first-quarter earnings and boosted full-year earnings guidance. For the period ended March 3, the company earned $20.8 million, or 34 cents a share, on revenue of $351.8 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expected earnings of 29 cents a share on revenue of $358.5 million. During the year-earlier period, the company earned $15.3 million, or 26 cents a share, on revenue of $333 million.

Looking ahead, H.B. Fuller now sees full-year earnings of $1.65 to $1.75 a share, up from an earlier forecast of $1.58 to $1.68 a share. Analysts project earnings of $1.64 a share. Shares rose $2.87 to $28.40.

Shares of Accenture(ACN Quote) rose 3.8% after the consulting firm posted fiscal second-quarter results that topped forecasts. For the period ended Feb. 28, the company posted earnings of $296.7 million, or 47 cents a share, on total revenue of $5.17 billion. Analysts expected earnings of 42 cents a share on revenue of $4.69 billion. During the year-earlier period, the company posted adjusted earnings of $293.1 million, or 37 cents a share, on revenue of $4.49 billion.

Looking ahead, Accenture now sees full-year earnings of $1.88 to $1.93 a share, up from its previous forecast of $1.80 to $1.85 a share. Analysts project earnings of $1.87 a share. Revenue is expected to be at the high end of its previous goal of revenue growth of 9% to 12%. Shares advanced $1.37 to $37.59.

UniFirst(UNF Quote) fell 0.7% after the uniform maker posted weaker-than-expected second-quarter earnings. For the quarter ended Feb. 24, the company earned $7 million, or 36 cents a share, on revenue of $222.4 million. Excluding items, the company earned 43 cents a share. Analysts expected earnings of 44 cents a share on revenue of $222.1 million. During the year-earlier quarter, the company earned $6.3 million, or 33 cents a share, on revenue of $202.2 million. Shares dropped 26 cents to $39.27.
