Europe's Stocks Rebound

Stocks in Asia rose overnight Tuesday, while early weakness across Europe faded and markets strengthened as the session wore on. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 was up 0.9% to 17,163, Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.5% to 19,357, and Mumbai's Sensex tacked on 0.5% to 12,706. South Korea's Kospi was fractionally better at 1444, and Singapore's Straits Times Index edged up 0.1% to 3117. The Jakarta Composite Index slipped 0.1% to 1775. Meanwhile, London's FTSE 100, at 6191, and Frankfurt's DAX, at 6672, were slightly higher. The Paris Cac 40 was gaining 0.4% to 5483. Milan's MIB 30 eased 0.3% to 40,221, and the Swiss Market Index climbed 0.2% to 8861. In the Americas, Mexico's Bolsa surged 1.5% to 27,296, and Brazil's Bovespa added 0.8% to 44,060. Canada's S&P/TSX Composite was unchanged at 13,012, and Argentina's Merval was higher by 0.6% at 2042.
