Monday's Tech Winners & Losers

Shares of Lumera(LMRA Quote) were among technology's winners Monday, surging 33% after the nanotechnology company received a purchase order from Lockheed Martin(LMT Quote).

The order calls for Lumera to deliver its high electro-optic activity materials to Lockheed. The agreement runs until Dec. 31, at which time Lockheed will let Lumera know what it plans to do about a commercial license for the materials.

"We are pleased that Lockheed Martin is interested in our polymer materials and expect that the materials will perform as anticipated," Lumera said. "We look forward to developing a long-term relationship with Lockheed Martin." Financial terms were not disclosed. Shares of Lumera were trading up $1.20 to $4.85.

Shares of Tom Online(TOMO Quote) jumped 25% after the company's parent said it will take the Internet concern private. Hong Kong media company Tom Group Ltd. said it will offer up to HK$1.57 billion for Tom Online, citing the changing operating environment in China and trading volatility. Tom Group already owns about 66% of Tom Online. Shares of Tom Online, which had been halted since last Monday, recently were up $2.94 to $14.56.

NetEase.com(NTES Quote) rose 3% after the online game services provider announced plans to repurchase up to $100 million in stock. The buyback will take no longer than three months, the company said. The new buyback follows a previous plan that resulted in the repurchase of about $60 million in stock. Shares of NetEase were trading up 52 cents to $18.97.
