CV Therapeutics (CVTX Quote) said late Thursday that it had a narrower fourth-quarter loss than expected, while revenue jumped past targets. The stock was recently adding 76 cents, or 6.1%, to $13.15.

Monogram Biosciences (MGRM Quote) was higher after reporting a fourth-quarter loss that narrowed from a year ago and was in line with expectations. Monogram was adding 7 cents, or 4%, to $1.83.

Cell Therapeutics (CTIC Quote) was trading lower a day after the company announced it will sell $17.6 million of convertible preferred stock and warrants. Cell Therapeutics was losing 6 cents, or 3.7%, to $1.57.

Among health care stocks gaining ground, Cell Genesys (CEGE Quote) was surging 7.9% to $3.57. MedImmune (MEDI Quote) was adding 1.5% to $31.87. GlaxoSmithKline (GSK Quote) was tacking on 1.4% to $56.62.

Among decliners, Amylin Pharmaceuticals (AMLN Quote) fell 2.1% to $40.79. Gilead Sciences (GILD Quote) was off 1.6% to $70.98. Forest Laboratories (FRX Quote) was slipping 1.5% to $54.53.
