Gold Futures Tick Higher

Stock quotes in this article: AEM , GLD , IAU , PAAS , MFN  

Component stocks Pan American Silver (PAAS Quote) and Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM Quote) were both gaining, up 2.2% and 0.8% respectively.

Elsewhere in the precious-metals patch, BMO Capital Markets upgraded shares of exploration company Minefinders(MFN Quote) to outperform from market-perform, sending the stock up almost 5%.

Turning to base metals, Comex copper contracts closed almost unchanged at $2.42 a pound.
