Treasury Prices Edge Ahead

Treasury prices were higher Tuesday, with gains growing as maturities on government debt extended. The benchmark 10-year note was up 4/32 in price and yielding 4.87%, while the 30-year bond was rising 7/32 to yield 4.98%. On the short end, the two-year was tacking on 1/32 and yielding 4.96%, and the five-year was up 3/32, yielding 4.86%. In the currency market, the dollar was mixed. The euro slipped to $1.2949 from $1.2953 previously, and the British pound was buying $1.9607, little changed. The greenback was fetching 121.68 yen, down slightly from 121.80.
