Verizon Communications (VZ - Get Report) rose slightly after the company posted mixed fourth-quarter results. The company earned $1.03 billion, or 35 cents a share, on revenue of $22.6 billion. Excluding certain items, earnings were $1.8 billion, or 62 cents a share. Analysts, on average, expected earnings of 61 cents a share and revenue of $23 billion. In the year-earlier period, Verizon earned $1.66 billion, or 59 cents a share, on revenue of $17.9 billion. Excluding items, year-earlier earnings were $1.78 billion, or 64 cents a share. Shares were trading up 9 cents to $37.92.Other technology movers included Intel (INTC - Get Report), up 47 cents to $21; Microsoft (MSFT), down 16 cents to $30.44; Apple (AAPL), up 43 cents to $85.81; Cisco Systems (CSCO - Get Report), down 29 cents to $26.06; Sun Microsystems (SUNW), up 1 cent to $6.34; Level 3 Communications (LVLT), down 21 cents to $6.11; Applied Materials (AMAT), down 26 cents to $17.52; Nvidia (NVDA), down 66 cents to $30.81; Oracle (ORCL), up 7 cents to $17.22; and Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI), unchanged at $3.74.
