Robust license sales propelled fourth-quarter profit and revenue at Tibco Software (TIBX Quote - Cramer on TIBX - Stock Picks), topping Street estimates.
The business software maker said late Thursday that net income increased to $31.5 million, or 14 cents a share, from $26.6 million, or 12 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $161 million from $134.4 million in the same period last year, beating First Call estimates of $156.6 million in sales. Software license revenue climbed 32% to $88.3 million. The latest quarter, ended Nov. 30, includes $4.1 million in employee stock-based compensation expense. Excluding items, Palo Alto, Calif.-based Tibco earned 14 cents a share. A Thomson First Call survey of analysts was expecting EPS of 12 cents. In recent after-hours trade, shares of Tibco gained 13 cents to $9.58.Featured Photo Galleries
