Panera (PNRA Quote) guided lower for the fourth quarter, saying winter storms in the Midwest will hold down same-store sales growth.
The St. Louis-based bakery cafe chain said it expects to make 62 cents to 65 cents a share for the quarter ending Dec. 26, shy of the 67-cent Thomson Financial analyst estimate. Panera said it expects sales in stores open at least 18 months to be penalized by at least a percentage point by last week's storms.
