Scana Plant Back in the Game

Scana's (SCG Quote) 1,000-megawatt V.C. Summer nuclear station returned to service on Nov. 22.

The plant returned after about one-third of its 157 fuel assemblies were replaced.

"This has been a successful outage on many levels. Not only did we complete it safely, we also addressed several maintenance opportunities that will enhance the station's reliability over the next operating cycle. The commitment of our staff was exceptional, and I am proud of their teamwork and dedication to getting the job done," the Columbia, S.C.-based company said.

Shares of Scana were trading up 11 cents, or 0.27%, at $40.65 Tuesday.
