First Advantage Buy

Consumer credit information provider First Advantage(FADV) said Tuesday that it acquired the assets of EvidentData, a company specializing in computer forensics and electronic discovery.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition will expand the West Coast presence of the company's litigation support offering and enhance the company's current electronic discovery capabilities both offered by the company's litigation consulting services unit, the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based company said.

"As businesses increasingly rely on electronics to transmit large volumes of information, First Advantage will continue to invest in these critical services so that we are positioned as a key resource to cull evidence in support of the litigation and investigative needs of our clients worldwide," the company said. "The talent within EvidentData will further solidify the depth and quality of forensics expertise in our Investigative and Litigation Support Services segment."

The company's shares were trading up 10 cents at $20.65 Tuesday.
