Dynavax Technologies(DVAX) skyrocketed after the biopharmaceutical company said a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that its ragweed allergy treatment was effective. Shares were surging $1.56, or 31.4%, to $6.52.
Team(TMI) gained after the maintenance and construction company reported higher first-quarter earnings. Looking ahead, the company affirmed its guidance for fiscal year 2007 earnings of $1.35 to $1.50 a share, which reflects option expenses of 15 cents a share. Analysts are forecasting $1.42. Shares were trading up $1.50, or 6%, to $26.40. Lightbridge(LTBG) will close a business unit after its largest customer, Sprint(S), ends its relationship. The company plans to fire 200 workers and take a restructuring charge of somewhere between $6.5 million and $13 million. The company reaffirmed its sales guidance of about $23.4 million for the third quarter and says earnings should be between 3 cents a share and 11 cents. Shares of Lightbridge were higher by 14% at $13.06. Par Technology(PTC) plummeted after the business-equipment company projected third-quarter revenue of $49 million to $50 million, down about 5% from a year ago. The company expects net earnings for the quarter to be in the range of 4 cents to 7 cents. The estimates are below the company's earlier guidance and Wall Street analyst estimates.
