Cramer's 'Mad Money' Recap: I Scream for Big Screens

AU Optronics (AUO Quote) is one stock levered to liquid-crystal-display TVs that still hasn't moved, Jim Cramer told viewers of his "Mad Money" TV show Friday. This is the company that was the "tipoff" to the fact that there was a glut of LCD TVs, Cramer said. But now that all excess inventory has been worked off and the price of gasoline is down, LCD TVs are back. In addition, Wal-Mart (WMT Quote), Kohl's (KSS Quote) and Home Depot (HD Quote) are "all getting into the big-screen TV game, he said. "This is going to be a big-screen TV Christmas," Cramer said. Although Corning (GLW Quote) is the most levered to the game and Cramer said he still likes it, that stock has moved up already. Meanwhile, AU Optronics -- a maker of flat-panel-display screens -- is the less obvious play, he said, and one third of the company is all about big-screen TVs. "Right now we know for a fact that these TVs are becoming better in terms of quality and are being offered at better prices," Cramer said, adding that there are two main reasons he believes people should get into AU Optronics.
