Borland Appoints Olsen Chairman

Borland Software(BORL Quote - Cramer on BORL - Stock Picks) said Monday that John Olsen was appointed chairman, succeeding William Hooper, who will continue as a board member.

Olsen served as president and chief operating officer of Business Objects(BOBJ Quote - Cramer on BOBJ - Stock Picks) from 2001 to 2004. He joined the Borland board in February 2005.

Just last week, the company said that former Dell (DELL Quote - Cramer on DELL - Stock Picks) executive Peter Morowski would step in as the head of its research and development division.

Morowski took over for Rick Jackson, Borland's chief marketing officer who had also been running the R&D department since late last year.
