Flower merchant FTD(FTD Quote) rose after posting fourth-quarter earnings of $8.8 million, or 30 cents a share, up from $5.4 million, or 18 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue grew 15.4% to $141.5 million. Analysts were looking for earnings of 24 cents on $135.6 million in revenue.
FTD forecast revenue for fiscal 2007 of about $630 million. The company projected earnings of 91 cents a share. The consensus estimates are for a profit of 87 cents a share and sales of $516.2 million. Shares climbed $2.01, or 14.4%, to $15.98. Bristow Group(BRS Quote), a provider of helicopter transportation for the offshore drilling, had first-quarter earnings of $17.2 million, or 73 cents a share, up from $12 million, or 51 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue increased 22% from a year ago to $221.1 million. Analysts had projected earnings of 64 cents a share. Bristow climbed $3.14, or 9.5%, to $36.36. U.S. Concrete(RMIX Quote) plummeted after the company missed second-quarter earnings expectations. The company reported earnings of $7.2 million, or 19 cents a share, falling 5 cents short of estimates. Revenue increased 23% to $188.8 million. U.S. Concrete expects third-quarter profits of 31 cents to 36 cents a share, trailing the consensus forecast of 39 cents. For the full year, the company expects revenue in the range of $800 million to $825 million. Shares sank $1.94, or 23.5%, to $6.32. Accredited Home Lenders(LEND Quote) tumbled after the San Diego-based mortgage banking company missed Wall Street's second-quarter earnings expectations. The company earned $41.2 million, or $1.84 a share, up from $39.6 million, or $1.81 a share, a year ago. Revenue increased 6.6% to $153.2 million. Analysts were looking for earnings of $1.84 on revenue of $156.3 million. The company revised its full-year profit estimate to a range of $4.50 to $5. The acquisition of Aames Investment(AIC Quote) will probably cut earnings by $1 to $1.35 a share. Analysts are looking for earnings of $6.49 a share on revenue of $665.3 million.
