Friday's ETF Winners & Losers

ETFs related to oil services were among the worst performers Friday as Tropical Storm Chris continued to weaken in the Caribbean, leading to a decline in the price of oil. The Oil Services HOLDRs(OIH Quote - Cramer on OIH - Stock Picks) ETF gave back $3.99, or 2.8%, to $140.41, and the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil Equipment Index(IEZ Quote - Cramer on IEZ - Stock Picks) was recently lower by $1.18, or 2.5%, to $45.62.

Homebuilders were also punished after Hovnanian(HOV Quote - Cramer on HOV - Stock Picks) offered cautious third-quarter guidance, sending the Philadelphia Housing Sector Index tumbling more than 1%.

The SPDR Homebuilders(XHB Quote - Cramer on XHB - Stock Picks) ETF fell 34 cents, or 1.1%, to $32.07, the PowerShares Dynamic Building & Construction(PKB Quote - Cramer on PKB - Stock Picks) ETF was lower by 15 cents, or 1%, to $14.83, and the iShares Dow Jones US Home Construction(ITB Quote - Cramer on ITB - Stock Picks) ETF was off 25 cents, or 0.7%, to $36.58.

Meanwhile, ETFs tracking real estate enjoyed some of the best returns. The streetTRACKS Wilshire REIT(RWR Quote - Cramer on RWR - Stock Picks) ETF was higher by $1.07, or 1.4%, to $79.92, the iShares Cohen & Steers Realty Majors(ICF Quote - Cramer on ICF - Stock Picks) ETF was gaining $1.08, or 1.2%, to $88.66, and the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate(IYR Quote - Cramer on IYR - Stock Picks) was recently up 68 cents, or 0.9%, to $74.97.

A rise of more than 3% in the price of silver supported the iShares Silver Trust(SLV Quote - Cramer on SLV - Stock Picks) ETF, which gained $2.22, or 1.8%, to $123.02.

The PowerShares Dynamic Software(PSJ Quote - Cramer on PSJ - Stock Picks) ETF was weaker, as holdings BEA Systems(BEAS Quote - Cramer on BEAS - Stock Picks), SPSS(SPSS Quote - Cramer on SPSS - Stock Picks) and Citrix Systems(CTXS Quote - Cramer on CTXS - Stock Picks) fell 2% or more.
