General Dynamics Gets Pact

General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics(GD Quote - Cramer on GD - Stock Picks), received a $46 million contract to provide parts for the reworking of the Army's Abrams tanks.

The defense contractor will partner with the Anniston Army Depot to service, repair and modify vehicles to a precombat condition, apply modificatons to bring the tanks to the latest configuration and reissue them to the Army before their next deployments.

The program will begin in 2007.
