Juniper Networks(JNPR Quote) gained on news the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based network-equipment maker will replace Albertson's(ABS Quote) in the S&P 500 after the grocer is acquired. The change will come on a to-be-announced date, S&P said. After hours, shares of Juniper climbed 93 cents, or 6%, to $16.22.
Celgene(CELG Quote) shares advanced as the biotech company said the Food and Drug Administration approved its drug Thalomid for the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Thalomid -- which was approved for use with the steroid dexamethasone -- was previously approved to treat leprosy. Shares changed hands in late trading at $41.06, up 62 cents, or 1.5%. Shares of BJ Services(BJS Quote) moved higher after the oilfield services company said its board authorized a $1 billion increase to its share repurchase program, supplementing about $270 million available to spend from prior authorizations. The company said it has repurchased about $331 million of its outstanding shares in the current fiscal year. Shares rose 41 cents, or 1.2%, to $35.47 in late trading.- Loading Comments...
