Ford(F Quote) just announced that its hybrid vehicle sales are up 121%. Is it time to buy the stock?

Jim Cramer: Even if hybrid sales were up 1,000%, I would still not recommend Ford. There is no indication that hybrids are profitable due to all the expensive components, and a boom in hybrids only has the effect of providing a very mild offset to lousy SUV sales. And that's even before you get to the company's pension and health care obligations.

Jim Cramer: I like Palm very much. The Treo smartphone is one of the hottest gadgets out there and is taking market share away from the competing BlackBerry. In addition, the company is getting a bunch of new phones out over the next couple of years that will allow it to further benefit from the boom in wireless email.
