Upbeat comments from Ciena(CIEN Quote) are reason enough to buy the fiber space en masse, Jim Cramer said on CNBC's "Stop Trading!" segment Wednesday.
Ciena told an analyst conference Wednesday that its market is showing "very positive momentum," according to Bloomberg. That bodes well for other players such as JDS(JDSU Quote), MRV(MRVC Quote) and Avanex(AVNX Quote), Cramer said. What's different about the current cycle? "Verizon(VZ Quote) and AT&T(T Quote) actually have stocks that are up and are ready to play the game. The cable companies are just sitting there, saying 'take me.' They'll throw money into the ground." Cramer called Eliot Spitzer's suit against H&R Block(HRB Quote) a "magic bullet against this stock," but suggested buying rival Jackson Hewitt(JTX Quote) on weakness. Cramer said people like NYSE(NYX Quote) not because of fundamentals, but psychology. "The average guy at home is saying, 'I want a piece of that, get me 10 shares.' That's what you're seeing." Cramer said Boeing(BA Quote) should go higher because it's "taken share and has the hot products." Regarding Sears(SHLD Quote), "it's about profits, not same-store sales. Shame on the shorts."- Loading Comments...
