Today's Small-Cap Winners and Losers

 

Restaurant chain Denny's (DENN) was rising 3% after the company reported its chain-store sales for February. The company said same-store sales were up 4.6% last month compared with February 2005. Shares of Denny's rose 13 cents to $4.49.

Spatialight (HDTV) shares were dropping after research firm Soleil cut its price target on the microdisplay company's stock. The firm maintained a sell rating on Spatialight and lowered its price target to $1 from $2. Spatialight shares were losing 32 cents, or 12%, to $2.35.

Shares of DHB Industries (DHB) headed higher after the company said its Point Blank Body Armor unit received an order worth about $54 million from the U.S. Army for its Interceptor outer tactical vest. DHB was gaining 26 cents, or 5.7%, to $4.83.

Innovex (INVX) said Tom Paulson, its chief financial officer, is resigning later this month to become CFO of Tennant (TNC). Paulson has been Innovex's CFO since February 2001. Innovex makes high-density flexible circuit-based electronic interconnect products that are used in hard-disk drives, liquid-crystal displays and flat-panel displays. Shares of Innovex slipped 10 cents, or 2.3%, to $4.22.

Natural Gas Services Group (NGS) shares were falling after the company priced an offering of 2.47 million shares at $17.50 each. Stockholders are also offering 382,000 shares. The company granted the underwriter an option to sell up to 427,500 additional shares to cover any overallotments. Shares were down 64 cents, or 3.5%, to $17.79.
