Renal Care to Sell Dialysis Clinics

Fresenius (FMS Quote) and Renal Care (RCI Quote) agreed to sell 100 dialysis clinics to satisfy regulators reviewing their planned merger.

Bad Homburg, Germany-based Fresenius said it and Nashville, Tenn., Renal Care will sell the clinincs, averaging 60 to 65 patients each, to National Renal Institutes for $450 million in cash.

The companies said they agreed to the transaction in connection with the Federal Trade Commission's review of their deal. Closing is expected by quarter-end.
