RBC Bearings Taps Prof

RBC Bearings (ROLL Quote) named Thomas J. O'Brien to its board.

The Oxford, Conn., maker of plain, roller and ball bearings for the industrial, defense and aerospace industries said O'Brien will also join its audit committee. O'Brien has served as the head of the finance department at the University of Connecticut since 1999 and as a professor at the university since 1986.

O'Brien "will be an outstanding addition to the RBC board," said CEO Michael J. Hartnett. "Thomas brings over 30 years of finance experience to RBC's board, and the company will benefit from his counsel as we continue to grow."

On Monday, RBC rose 84 cents to $21.56.
