GATX Names Counsel

GATX (GMT Quote) named Deborah A. Golden vice president and general counsel.

The Chicago-based leasing company said Golden replaces Ronald J. Ciancio, who is retiring from GATX after 25 years.

"Ron Ciancio's legal knowledge, business judgment and tireless dedication have been invaluable to GATX for many years," said CEO Brian Kenney. "I am sorry to see Ron leave because we rely so heavily on his counsel, but we have delayed his departure long enough and I know he is looking forward to his retirement. We wish him the best and cannot thank him enough for his contributions."

Ciancio, 64 years old, joined GATX in 1981 as a senior attorney and was named general counsel in 2000. Golden, 51, joins GATX from Midwest Generation.
