Cramer's 'Mad Money' Recap: Playing With Clay
Click here for an archive of Cramer's "Mad Money" recaps.
"I love companies that do new things with old material," Cramer said on his "Mad Money" TV show Friday, citing past love affairs with carbon fibers and titanium. And the material of the future, he said, is clay because nothing is better than ceramics for heat or body armor. Cramer said Investor's Business Daily has featured Amcol International(ACO Quote) as a great play on clay, and Cramer agrees that the company is great. But he told viewers to buy Ceradyne(CRDN Quote). Why? Ceradyne posted 112% revenue growth and earning growth of 82% year-on-year in its latest quarter. Most importantly, the stock is up 115% due to the number of large government contracts rolling in because of the company's body armor division. Our military clearly needs body armor so demand will not be a problem for Ceradyne, Cramer said. And he reassured a caller that Ceradyne is nothing like DHB Industries(DHB Quote), a stock that fell after its body armor stopped halting bullets. This is because Ceradyne uses ceramics rather than nylon fiber.
Cramer also said that there is a play on the current silicon shortage, a material essential to body armor production, and that's MEMC Electronics Materials(WFR Quote).
