J&J Recalls Children's Tylenol

McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals, part of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), is recalling some of its Children's Tylenol products, saying that package information and design may be confusing and could lead to improper dosing, including overdosing.

The company will recall all lots and flavors of Children's Tylenol Meltaways 80 milligram packaged in bottles and blister packages, Children's Tylenol SoftChews 80 mg. packaged in blisters and Jr. Tylenol Meltaways 160 mg. packaged in blisters.

McNeil is working with the Food and Drug Administration on the recall and in getting the news to consumers and retailers.

Shares of Johnson & Johnson were down 45 cents recently to $66.55 on the New York Stock Exchange.
