Suicide Bombers Kill 41 in Morocco

Updated from May 17.

Suicide bombers struck in the heart of Casablanca, Morocco's capital, killing 41 people and injuring scores more in a coordinated attack late Friday.

At least 100 people were injured. Ten of the dead were the bombers, who hit the Belgian consulate, a Jewish community center, a Spanish social club and a city hotel, according to the Associated Press.

The attack, following Monday's explosions in Saudi Arabia that killed 34 people, including eight Americans, confirmed fears that Osama Bin Laden's al Qaeda network was planning more assaults.

The dead included two Spaniards, two Italians and two French, according to an official at the Azerroes Hospital, AP reported.

The Moroccan news agency said three Moroccans were arrested in connection with Friday's bombings, AP said.
