Kodak Forms Two Groups in Realignment

Kodak(EK Quote) disclosed plans for a new corporate structure that will be designed to drive growth through aggressive investments in digital technologies, faster introductions of new products and improved customer service.

The film and imaging company said it will simplify its organization by consolidating seven business units into two groups - the consumer business and the commercial business.

Kodak also plans to intensify its focus on new business activities aimed at generating sales from the company's research labs and external venture capital investments. The first new business will be called the Kodak Display business unit, which will expand on the company's flat-panel display technology.
