Action Alerts PLUS Comparison vs. S&P 500

Below we measure the performance of the trust against the performance of the S&P 500 and the performance of the S&P 500 plus dividends received in cash and not reinvested, which we refer to as "S&P (including dividends paid)". This treatment more closely approximates the treatment of dividends in the Action Alerts PLUS portfolio than does the reinvestment of dividends. Action Alert PLUS's performance results listed here take into account share price change, dividends paid, interest earned and actual commissions paid. In March 2005, the Action Alerts PLUS portfolio was converted into a charitable trust, where any net realized gains, interest earned and dividends paid are given annually to charity.
