The next-to-last trading session of 2007 will feature only a handful of earnings and economic reports Friday, but TheStreet.com will offer up more on what to watch for as the calendar turns to a new year.
The economic data will be highlighted by the Chicago purchasing managers' index for December and new home sales for November from the Census Bureau. Only a few names are expected to report quarterly results, among them Mesa Air (MESA Quote) and Ashworth (ASHW Quote). Meanwhile, TSC will have another round of 2008 previews. Vishesh Kumar will examine what next year holds for Internet names like Google (GOOG Quote), Microsoft (MSFT Quote) and Amazon.com (AMZN Quote), and Scott Moritz will explain what to look for from telecom stocks such as Research In Motion (RIMM Quote), Apple (AAPL Quote), Nokia (NOK Quote) and Motorola (MOT Quote). Also, check in early as Marek Fuchs details the five dumbest things that took place on Wall Street during the year.- Loading Comments...
