Market Features
Retailers will again headline the earnings slate Thursday, while traders will also have another handful of economic data to sort through.
Among the earnings due are those from J.C. Penney (JCP), Kulicke & Soffa (KLIC), Tyco (TYC), VeraSun (VSE) and Williams-Sonoma (WSM). Results will also be out from Agilent (A), Autodesk (ADSK), Intuit (INTU), Salesforce.com (CRM), Starbucks (SBUX) and Kohl's (KSS). The economic calendar is again full, with the consumer price index, weekly initial jobless claims, the New York Empire State Index, crude inventories and a regional survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia scheduled. On TheStreet.com, Michaela Cavallaro will tell you how you can prepare for the dreaded alternative minimum tax, and personal finance expert Jeffrey Strain will offer some ideas for smarter tipping in restaurants.
