A Wii We Go: Racing Game Cures Your Need for Speed

Stock quotes in this article: LOGI

LOS ANGELES -- Gadget Grrl believes that when you spend a lot of time driving on the road, the last thing you may want to do when you get home is drive. That is, unless you've got a Wii gaming system loaded with the Need for Speed game and a Logitech (LOGI Quote) Speed Force Wireless racing wheel. This gadget has "force feedback," so you will actually feel the motion, especially when it crashes.

Next up is the Bluetooth Car Kit. It enables drivers to multitask without distracting themselves from the road. There are two separate devices in the kit: wireless remote, which mounts on the steering wheel; and the LiquidAUX Bluetooth device, which plugs into the cigarette lighter slot.

Now back to the driving game.

I took this racing wheel for a test drive and it was a blast. What sets it apart from other wheels out there is that it's wireless and it doesn't weigh a ton, but yet it's sturdy enough for some solid play.

And it is an all-in-one device, so you don't have to set up anything to start. There is an expandable lap rest so you don't need a table to use it.

The built-in gas and brake controls make it easy to control while in play. And with something called "force feedback," you'll actually feel the action as it takes place on the game, even all the crashes.

How it works is you plug the 3.5mm auxiliary cable into your Bluetooth-enabled music phone and use the phone's activation feature to call a contact or a phone number. There is a built-in microphone and the remote allows you to control your music and/or your calls.

So, say a call is coming in and you're listening to a podcast, you would pause the music and then hit answer to take the call.
