NEW YORK (AP) Shares of some top silver companies were up at the close of trading:
Hecla Mining rose $.13 or 5.1 percent, to $2.66.
Pan American Silver rose $.34 or 1.8 percent, to $18.93.
Silver Standard rose $.79 or 4.4 percent, to $18.92.
Silver Wheaton rose $.33 or 4.0 percent, to $8.63.
